SPRAGGA BENZ, The Chiliagon Project

On the 21st June 1948 a ship called HMS Empire Windrush docked at the Port of Tilbury, near London, with 492 passengers from the West Indies.

Despite the significant challenges these early arrivals faced, it kick started a merging of Caribbean and British society which engendered one of the most enriching culture clashes the world has ever seen.

70 years on – Bolstered by this West Indian influence, London currently finds itself at the forefront of musical innovation in the electronic and bass music once again.

It is into this environment that Spragga Benz has been intrigued and come to the UK to collaborate and spark the next development in British-Caribbean music. Collaborating with the the very best of the UK urban scene – Buttercuts Records and Red Square Productions are proud to announce Spragga Benz’ new release ‘CHILIAGON’

A chiliagon is a 1000 sided shape, and this album effectively demonstrates the 1000 sides of Spragga Benz.

From serious jump-up Junglist rave bangers, to booty-shaking bass music, to straight up feel good boom-bap hip hop with-a-reggae-lilt, all bases are covered.

Next single “Differ” is a Toddla T producky and will be exclusively aired once again by the dancheall don DJ Target on Nov 5th at 8pm on his Radio 1xtra show – so tune in for a first listen. Video will drop soon after.
